Dr. Georgi Petkov,  professor,  Department of Drug Discovery and Biomedical Sciences, South Carolina College of Pharmacy (USC campus) was recently named Grand Prize Winner in the prestigious 2015 Diokno-Lapides Essay Contest on Urodynamics and Neurourology Research.  Diokno-Lapides Award is considered the most prestigious award in the field of urology and it is given in a world-wide open competition for clinical or basic science research in urology.  Dr. Petkov’s grant prize entry was entitled: “TRPM4 Channels as Promising Novel Targets for the Pharmacological Treatment of Overactive Bladder”  The pre-award ceremony and presentation was held at the Annual SUFU meeting in Scottsdale, AZ on Feburary 27, 2015, and official award dinner and presentation will be held in conjunction with the annual AUA meeting in New Orleans on May 16, 2015 where Dr. Petkov will make a brief presentation and be presented with a plaque.
