Two South Carolina College of Pharmacy (SCCP) students were named recipients of the 2015 American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP)-Walmart Scholars Program awards.
Amy Yanicak '16 from the SCCP's University of South Carolina (USC) campus and Ardis Copenhaver '16 from SCCP's Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) campus were two of the 85 student/faculty recipients selected nationally for the program, which provides $1,000 travel scholarships to the AACP Annual Meeting and the AACP Teachers Seminar in National Harbor, Md. July 11-15, 2015.
The goal of the scholarship program is to strengthen the recipient’s skills and commitment to a career in academic pharmacy through participation in AACP programming and activities.
Yanicak’s faculty advisor was Brie Dunn, assistant professor of clinical pharmacy and outcomes sciences on the USC campus, and Copenhaver’s advisor was Jason Haney, assistant professor of clinical pharmacy and outcomes sciences on the MUSC campus.
