Since it can take up to five weeks to verify transcripts, test scores, and other information via PharmCAS, it is recommended that applicants start the PharmCAS application before beginning the Supplemental. However, BOTH the PharmCAS and SCCP Supplemental applications must be completed to be considered as an applicant for FALL 2015 admission
The fee for the initial application on PharmCAS is $150.00. Each additional school selected is $50.00. The fee for the SCCP Supplemental application is $65.00. The PharmCAS application fee is paid directly to PharmCAS. The Supplemental Fee is paid directly to the SCCP
Your PCAT CID is found on your PCAT registration. It is needed by PharmCAS to match your test scores to your PharmCAS application. If you do not know your PCAT CID, please contact 617-612–2050 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Click on “Academic History” – “Colleges Attended” – “Add new entry.” In the 1st box, “Find a College:” Click on “Find a College” and select “NOT LISTED US INSTITUTION.” In the 2nd box, type in name of the institution you attended and fill in the remaining required information. Do not list any coursework for this school under “Course Information.”
You must report grades for all courses taken for college credit.
PharmCAS requires that you enter the AP/IB credit exactly as it appears on your transcript. For example, if you earned a passing score for the AP ENGLITCOMP test taken in high school and it appears as ENGL 101 on your transcript, you will enter ENGL 101 in PharmCAS. If you did not receive a letter grade for a college course in which you received AP or IB credit, enter a grade of “CR” in PharmCAS. If you did earn a letter grade, enter the grade exactly as it appears on your transcript for the college course in which you received credit.
When entering grades for pending Fall 2014 courses, PharmCAS will allow applicants the option to select “In-Progress.” However, applicants will need to enter Fall grades into PharmCAS once received. Applicants can submit their Fall 2014 grades online during the PharmCAS “Academic Update Window.” The Academic Update Window will open in mid-December. Applicants will receive an email from PharmCAS when it is time to submit Fall grades via the Academic Update Window. To ensure that your Fall 2014 grades are considered by SCCP Admissions, applicants are encouraged to submit their grades via the Academic Update Window immediately after they are received. To accelerate the receipt of Fall 2014 coursework, applicants should also request an official transcript to be mailed to SCCP Admissions once fall grades are posted.
Applicants must notify PharmCAS via email concerning grade changes. Click “Grade Change Process” and view the information under “Reporting Grade Changes” to view instructions on how to submit grade changes to PharmCAS by email.
It can take up to five weeks for PharmCAS to verify your transcripts before sending your application to SCCP Admissions. Your PharmCAS application is not considered until it is received by SCCP Admissions. It is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED that applicants complete the PharmCAS application 5 weeks in advance of the Fall 2015 ADMISSIONS DEADLINE, JANUARY 5, 2015, to ensure it is reviewed by Admissions. .
You will need to download and print the “Transcript Request Form” on your PharmCAS application. Applicants must submit a “Transcript Request Form” with each official transcript to match your transcript with your PharmCAS application.
PharmCAS will not accept transcripts sent by the applicant. Transcripts are submitted from the institution (typically the Registrar’s Office) where the course work was completed. The college or university office that processes official transcripts must mail the “Transcript Request Form” from your PharmCAS application along with your official transcript.
Do not send AP and IB credit scores to PharmCAS. AP and IP credit scores are submitted to the SCCP Office of Enrollment Management at the following address: Attn: SCCP Admissions Office of Enrollment Management 45 Courtenay Drive, 3rd Floor, Room 359 MSC 203 Charleston, SC 29425-2030 For AP scores, applicants must use college code 5407 (MUSC) when obtaining scores from College Board.
Your references will submit letters of recommendation online via the PharmCAS electronic reference system. The persons you designate as your recommenders on PharmCAS will receive an email with instructions on how to submit a recommendation via the electronic reference system. Three letters of recommendation are required by the SCCP.
PharmCAS will ONLY accept the online reference via the electronic reference system. If your recommenders have any questions regarding the electronic reference system, they can contact PharmCAS at 617-612–2050 or email@example.com.
It is recommended but not required that applicants utilize college professors and pharmacists as evaluators. Professionals including high school teachers and administrators, work supervisors, coaches, faculty advisors, etc. can serve as evaluators. When choosing evaluators it is important to consider QUALITY in terms of your letter of reference. It is better to obtain a letter from a work supervisor with whom you are well acquainted than a professor who barely knows your name.
Evaluators may submit letters of reference AFTER an applicant completes their application. However, your application is not considered complete and SCCP Admissions cannot make a decision on an applicant until ALL letters of reference are received. It is strongly recommended that your evaluators submit letters of reference at least several weeks before the January 5, 2015 deadline.
Applicants must have taken the PCAT in July (or earlier) and have 16 hours or less of remaining prerequisites to be eligible for early decision.
To be eligible for Early Decision, applicants must have the following submitted before September 2nd, 2014:
a) completion of PharmCAS application
b) completion of SCCP Supplemental application
c) three letters of recommendation via PharmCAS
d) completion of Prerequisite Course Requirements Checklist Form via SCCP Supplemental application. Applications submitted after September 2nd, 2014 are automatically deferred to Regular Admissions
If chosen for an interview, you will be offered an interview between mid-September and mid-October 2014. Due to the quick turnaround time for early decision candidates, note that requests to reschedule your interview may lead to automatic deferral to regular admissions.
Applicants applying via early decision will be notified by October 18, 2014. You may be offered early admission, denied admission, or deferred to regular applicant status.
The Early Decision program is a binding option for applicants who have decided that a particular College of Pharmacy is their first choice and that they will enroll if accepted. As an Early Decision applicant, you can apply to only one college of pharmacy. If you are offered admission as an Early Decision applicant, you are obligated to accept the offer and you will not be permitted to apply to other PharmCAS institutions. If, however, you are denied admission or deferred as an Regular Decision applicant, you may apply to other PharmCAS institutions for an additional fee.
Due to the amount of time (potentially up to five weeks) it can take for PharmCAS to verify transcripts and other documents, it is recommended that applicants begin the PharmCAS application prior to beginning the Supplemental. However, both applications must be completed before an applicant can be considered for an admissions interview. It is recommended the SCCP Supplemental Application along with the PharmCAS application is completed well before January 5, 2015 to be considered for admission for Fall 2015.
Type in only your PHARM CAS CID. The PHARM CAS CID is found on the top of your PharmCAS application next to your name.
Applicants must print the “Prerequisite Course Requirement Checklist Form” found on the SCCP Supplemental application. This form must be sent to SCCP Admissions (see address below) following the submission of your application.

Early Fall 2014 – Early Spring 2015. In addition to completing the PharmCAS and SCCP Supplemental applications, applicants must have all three letters of reference, PCAT scores and the “Prerequisite Course Requirements Checklist Form” submitted to be eligible for an admissions interview.
Applicants will participate in two individual interviews.
For interview practice, it is strongly recommended that applicants conduct practice interviews with a professional, preferably a pharmacist. Applicants are also strongly encouraged to visit a career center at their higher educational institution or professional agency to gain mock interview practice
Applicants must bring (3) resumes including updates not included on original resumes submitted during the application to their admissions interviews
Admissions decisions are made on a rolling basis beginning in the Fall semester for applicants who have completed the prerequisites for the PharmD program and in early Spring for applicants with pending prerequisites. The projected date for all applicants to be notified of their admission status is March 31, 2015.
You can check your admissions status on PharmCAS. If a candidate does not receive an offer within 2-3 weeks following the interview, the individual is still eligible and a decision will be deferred until additional interviews are completed. Accepted applicants will be contacted by phone and email. Waitlisted and denied applicants will be notified by email.
Technically yes, but PharmCAS and SCCP encourages applicants to submit applications (including transcripts) at least several weeks before their institutional deadline to avoid Web congestion due to heavy applicant and Internet traffic. It is also recommended that you submit your SCCP Supplemental application early. After your application, official transcript, PCAT score, and fee are received, it can be up to 5 weeks for PharmCAS to process your application. Pharmacy schools cannot view your application until it’s processed by PharmCAS. You cannot be interviewed until your three letters of recommendation are received by the SCCP. Remember that interview slots are limited during Spring 2015.
If your application was received by the SCCP, you are eligible to have your application information imported for the Fall 2015 admissions cycle. When logging into PharmCAS, click the reapplicant account to have personal information, your academic history, and information under additional information carried over to the new cycle. It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure the information is correct and complete. PCAT scores submitted during a previous admissions cycle WILL NOT transfer over and will need to be resubmitted. Letters of recommendation, personal essays, payments, test scores and transcripts containing updated coursework WILL NOT transfer over and must be resubmitted.
The purpose for submitting new recommendations and a new personal statement is so that applicants can show how they have grown and developed professionally from the previous application cycle. You are strongly encouraged to avoid submitting the same personal statement and recommendations from the previous application cycle.
Applicants will have to submit a new Supplemental application and submit a new payment for the Fall 2015 admissions cycle.
