The mission of the South Carolina College of Pharmacy Community Pharmacy Residency Program is to encourage pharmacists to become innovative leaders in the community pharmacy setting, contributing to the profession and the community at large.

The South Carolina College of Pharmacy Community Residency Program is designed to provide the resident with experience and confidence to: (1) develop, implement, and deliver innovative patient care programs within a community pharmacy setting, (2) conduct practice-based research and contribute to professional literature, (3) educate current and future health care providers, as well as consumers on drug therapy and disease state management.
- Manage and improve the medication-use process.
- Provide evidence-based, patient-centered care and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
- Exercise leadership and practice management skills.
- Demonstrate project management skills.
- Provide medication and practice-related information, education, and/or training.
- Utilize medical informatics.
