(10 March 2012) Phi Lambda Sigma (PLS), the national pharmacy leadership society, honored two of pharmacy’s elder sons at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) with national awards reflecting lifetimes of achievement.
Wayne Weart was selected as the recipient of the Phi Lambda Sigma (PLS)-Procter & Gamble Leadership Award, which is the highest honor PLS gives, and Bobby Bradham, an MUSC pharmacy alumnus from the Class of 1977, was selected as the 2012 PLS National Alumnus of the Year.
Both awards were presented during the PLS Awards Reception on March 10, 2012 in New Orleans.
In each case, the criteria call for a PLS alumnus who has exemplified leadership qualities in support of the pharmacy profession. For the alumni award, each PLS chapter throughout the country nominates candidates for Chapter Alumni of the Year and one candidate is selected as the national recipient. For the leadership award, candidates compete among a national slate of nominations from any PLS member in good standing and one winner is selected each year.
