USC Pre-Pharmacy Advisement

PrePharmacy Advisement

USC Pre-Pharmacy Program Advisement

Advisement is required two times during the academic year for pre-pharmacy students.  Advisement for Spring course registration begins in late September to early October.  Advisement for Summer/Fall course registration begins in late February to early March.   Pre-pharmacy students will be notified via campus email, Blackboard, Twitter, and Facebook to sign up for advisement.

To prepare for advisement, students are expected to bring the following:

  • Student Advisement Form completed with courses you plan to take
  • Resume
    • This is a working document that you will continuously update
    • Include all activities you have completed up to this point and continue to add as you complete them
  • Checklist for PharmD Potential Applicants
    • Check off items you have already completed or as you complete them

These documents are located in the “Content” section of the “USC pre-Pharmacy” page found under “My Organizations” in Blackboard.

While advisement is required two times a year to register for classes, Pre-Pharmacy Advisors are available year-round to meet with pre-pharmacy students.

Earn Your B.S. & Pharm.D.

Distinguish yourself by earning both the optional B.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Pharm.D.  Students must complete Carolina Core coursework, gain acceptance into the Pharm.D. program at USC, and complete the first two years of the professional program.  The B.S. degree is awarded in the second professional year or fourth year of college.  The Pharm.D is awarded in the fourth professional year or sixth year of college.
